Description | Motueka High School is a co-educational Year 9 to Year 13 community school of about 720 students, situated in one of the most beautiful parts of New Zealand, with easy access to the sea, mountains and rivers. There are three National Parks on our immediate boundary and we make extensive use of these in our comprehensive Outdoor Education programme. We are culturally diverse and our students excel both academically and in a wide range of sports. We are strong in visual and performing arts. Our size is our strength, allowing a balanced curriculum while providing each student with excellent pastoral care and leadership opportunities. |

Guidance and Pastoral support is available with a Professional counsellor, learner support teacher, social worker and truancy officer available. |

Features of the local area | Motueka is a township of about 8000 people and has all of the amenities, services and clubs that could normally be found in larger cities including a Recreation Centre and two movie theatres. Motueka enjoys a warm and sunny climate and is famous for being part of the sunniest regions of New Zealand. Kaiteriteri beach, famed as the prettiest beach in NZ, is our local beach, only 15 minutes from town. We have mountain caves to explore and snow skiing at Rainbow skifield. Abel Tasman National Park offers numerous water sports including wind surfing, diving, fishing, kayaking and waka ama racing. The town services orchards, vineyards, farms, a thriving tourism industry as well as the local fishing and forestry industries. |
