Description

Co-ed independent full UK boarding school for students aged 11-18.

• Christ’s Hospital is the only co-educational, “full boarding” school in the South of England.
• The school is just 20 minutes from London Gatwick airport, 45 minutes from London Heathrow airport and 60 minutes from central London.
• The school is situated in 1200 acres of stunning countryside, just 3 miles south of the thriving market town of Horsham in the southeast of England and is very fortunate in having its own mainline railway station.
• As well as having a full, seven-day programme of academic/sport/music/arts and broader curricular activity, all students also benefit from having the school staff living on site, meaning that support is available whenever needed.
• Just 12% of our students are international.
• 98% of students go on to top universities in the UK/overseas.

Tuition costs

In 2023 / 24, the cost for tuition and full boarding for international students is £44,670, the termly cost is £14 890.

Accommodation

Approximately 45 students live in each of our 18 boarding houses.
The houses create a sense of community and act as a ‘home away from home’ for all students.
Through their house, students have access to a wide range of help and guidance, including academic support, extracurricular involvement and personal development opportunities. The houses foster a sense of belonging, friendship and camaraderie among students, creating a supportive and inclusive community.

School type Private
Student support

Each house has a house parent who has overall responsibility for the students in their house, assisted by an assistant house parent and a team of three other tutors.
In addition, each boarding house has a resident matron. The matron is someone the students can talk to and seek advice from, and deals with students’ day-to-day medical issues, supported by our Health Centre, which is staffed 24 hours a day with a team of trained nurses. Doctors from a local practice hold surgeries at the school five mornings a week.

Type of programs Long-term programs (study for 1 year or more)
English as second language

Students are fully integrated into school life and are given additional assistance with English as a second language, if required. Students are allocated to EAL lessons, as an alternative to mainstream English and are not necessarily expected to take an additional modern foreign language.
