Description | St Mary’s College is committed to providing a world-class education and is considered one of the top academic performing schools in New Zealand with NCEA pass rates of around 95% at each level. Students’ are inspired by the diverse subject choice and supported to strive for high standards with nearly all international students graduating directly to universities around the world. The College is the oldest Catholic girls’ school in New Zealand with traditional values which develops the whole person with confidence and a strong sense of social justice. The school has 1000 students and with only 45 international students and four dedicated international staff, each student receives exceptional care and support. |

Special programs | St Mary's College offers a world-renowned, award winning, music programme. Learning a new instrument is compulsory in Years 7-9 where students can loan an instrument. The school offers a wide range of music ensembles for all levels including orchestras, chamber orchestras, concert bands, senior and junior choirs.

Sports | Many competitive teams including basketball, swimming, hockey, touch rugby, dragon boating, water polo and also specialised sports teams (i.e. athletics, skiing, snowboarding and sailing) on offer. Students can get involved in service and volunteer initiatives, one of 12+ different cultural groups, an award-winning music programme and drama and dance-based productions throughout the year. |

Application process | Students can apply at any time of year to study for one term or more. Each student enrolling for a year or longer sits an online English placement test, sent via email, and takes part in an online interview. |
Features of the local area | The location of the College is in one of Auckland's most safe and respectable suburbs, Ponsonby, in Central Auckland, a 10 minute walk to Auckland’s CBD/city centre. It offers a beautiful environment for students to learn with park-like surrounds and spectacular views overlooking Auckland City and the Waitemata Harbour. |
Curriculum | St Mary’s College offers a dynamic and globally recognised NCEA curriculum which is studied from Years 11-13 as an academic pathway to University Entrance. The College consistently achieves some of the highest success rates in New Zealand. All subjects qualify for NCEA standards with a diverse range of options offered including Music, Arts, Fashion & Interior Design, Computer Science (coding), Physical Education, Dance, Photography and Classical Studies. |
