Hamilton Boys' High School is committed to excellence. Our school blends the values of the past with the challenges of the future. Our magnificent 20-hectare campus includes vast grass sports fields, a world class gymnasium and fitness centre, a heated outdoor swimming pool, an all-weather hockey turf, a climate controlled, multi-purpose indoor training facility and modern, well-appointed classrooms. these facilities are complemented by the choice of over 40 different sporting codes, over 50 senior subject options and more that 34 Art, clubs and music choices. Our international student come to us from around the globe for short and long term stays and the friendships formed last a lifetime.

$17,000 per year

Accommodation homestay, boarding,

School appointed homestay: $330 per week OR School boarding house, Argyle House $15,500 per year plus $4,500 for set leave and holiday homestay

I.R.P - International Rugby Programme. Passionate rugby players of any ability are warmly invited to join our I.R.P. The boys attend a timetabled rugby class each day in addition to the timetabled academic classes of their choice.

Application process

The enrolment process is completed on line. Students entering Years 9 and 10 must submit their academic transcripts/school reports but are not required to take entrance tests.  Year 11,Year 12 and Year 13 students whose first language is not English will be interviewed on line and may be required to provide IELTS results.

The heart of New Zealand’s dairy farming industry, the Waikato region enjoys a temperate climate and lush farmland. It encompasses the beautiful Waikato River, Hobbiton movie set, the stunning black sand beaches and world-renowned surfing of Raglan, the world-famous Waitomo glow worm caves, an abundance of adventure tourism options and native bush hikes. Hamilton city is New Zealand’s 4th largest city.  With very little traffic congestion, it is an exceptionally easy, convenient and safe city to navigate by car, bus, bike or on foot. 

Curriculum

Hamilton Boys’ High School recognises and responds to the educational needs of all students, including those with exceptional, different and special needs. NCEA, Cambridge International Examinations, IELTS preparation and English support programmes.  Year 9 students study 5 core subjects (English, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies and Physical Education) as well as 8 options subjects.  Year 10 students also study the 5 core subjects and 2 full year option subjects.  Year 11 – 13 students have over one hundred subject choices.
