$250 per week – Home Stay Our school arranges all home stays ourselves. We have a number of local families that have vast experience in hosting international students. 

The International Director oversees all International Students at Taumarunui High School and ensures that they settle comfortably into the school and are catered for in terms of subjects options, pastoral needs, home stays, etc. She also looks after them in terms of their academic programs, pastoral care, and homestay arrangements etc. 
We have a Guidance Counsellor who works out of our student wellbeing center which also houses a nurse and there is a doctor on site periodically which is available to our students. 

We have a dedicated Learning Resource Centre which has ESOL support and other learning support available to our International Students.

For all enquiries please email Juanita Duncan an International Student Application Form from our website. The application form, a photocopy of the student's passport, copy of the student's birth certificate, certified school reports, references and certificates are required to make an application. On acceptance and in consultation with the student, students are placed at an appropriate academic level. This placement is determined by the student’s academic ability, course content previously covered and age. There are no entry tests but students with a basic level of spoken English will find their international experience more enjoyable. We assess each student's English ability on arrival and then if required ensure there is ESOL support for each student.
