Description | Rangiora High School was established in 1884. It has over 125 years tradition of excellence in both academic and sporting areas. The school is a co-educational government school with a roll of 1850 students. It is a large city style school in a safe rural environment. Rangiora High School is situated in the large town of Rangiora, just 30 minutes from Christchurch city and the international airport. The school has excellent and modern class room facilities, 3 gymnasiums, tennis and squash courts, an Equine riding school as well as a school farm. |

Accommodation | homestay,
Students stay in local homestay families either in town or on farms. All homestays are carefully chosen and assessed by the school. $250 per week The school has a full time Homestay manager employed. |

Special programs | The school has a 40 hectare farm on site. Students can choose academic subjects together with a course in agriculture, horticulture, animal care or rural studies. A wide variety of summer and winter sports are offered as well as music and drama. Horse riding is a popular activity. |

Rangiora town is surrounded by farmland and forests. It is one hour from the ski fields and 10 minutes from the beaches perfect for students who want an outdoor experience in a large school with excellent academic results. |
Curriculum | High School programmes - From Year 9 Year 13. Academic subjects. A large range of subjects such as English, languages, Mathematics, the sciences, technology, land based studies, equine studies, fine arts, automotive engineering, computer studies and information processing. All courses are NZQA approved. Qualifications are offered at Levels 1, 2 & 3 of the NCEA framework. International students are offered up to 16 hours per week of English Language to improve language skills and teach skills necessary for other subject areas. A wide range of subjects as well as Adventure Education, Equestrian studies, Agriculture and Horticulture Above average results in NCEA Levels 1, 2 & 3 |
