Description

Papatoetoe High School is a multi-cultural, co-educational state secondary school. We are proud of our diversity of culture and the family atmosphere and warmth of our people, both at school and in the wider community. Sincerity, integrity, celebrating diversity and service to others are values that the PHS learning community honour.

PHS has three expectations of our learners: Be Respectful, Be Responsible, Be a Learner. International students have full access to our comprehensive curriculum and are encouraged to integrate into all aspects of school life. We offer high quality tuition in trades courses, such as construction and mechanical engineering, as well as full academic NCEA programmes. We boast an award-winning music department and a strong art department, where students' talents are nurtured and developed. We are proud of the academic achievements of our students and guide them to be the best they can be. Multi-level learning is available to ensure the needs of our students are met, including additional ESOL support.

Pastoral care is our strength. All our students feel welcome, accepted and part of our school family. Our multi-cultural environment creates an enriching experience, giving students the sense of being a true global citizen. Many different faces, languages and cultures provide a feeling of belonging and acceptance. Diversity in all aspects is celebrated and students develop pride in who they are, where they are from and what they can achieve. Students learn to communicate, collaborate, and create with a wide variety of people, which are essential skills for success.
