Description | Our Mission: Innovate, Engage, Inspire. Welcome to Hobsonville Point Secondary School. Located in the Upper Harbour of the Waitemata, Auckland, we offer new, state of the art facilities and technology in our innovative learning environment. Our school is a future focused learning environment where learning has a purpose, is authentic, and relevant. Students develop a personalised learning plan in conjunction with their hub coach that meets their individual needs and interests, with a focus on graduating as critical thinkers and empowered life-long learners. Our curriculum has three aspects. Learning modules develop students capabilities and knowledge of all NZ Curriculum areas. Our Learning projects are student-centred collaborative learning experiences based around authentic issues, challenges or needs-based situations, with a strong focus on linking to our community. Finally, Learning Hubs look at the dispositional curriculum. These are small groups of students (15 maximum) with a Learning Coach. Learning Hub is a time for learners to be exposed to skills and experiences which support and develop their learning. We are a small school that was established in 2014 with multiple opportunities to excel in all areas. Along with our modern student focused curriculum, we have a wide variety of music, performance, cultural, technology, sport and outdoor education opportunities for all students. Hobsonville Point Secondary School is an exciting place to learn and excel. We look forward to you joining us on our journey. |

It is a very new community that offers multiple community events and a wonderful farmer’s market on weekends. We are close to beaches, shopping centres, movie theatres and it is just a 20 minute car ride to the centre of Auckland, New Zealand’s largest city. We have excellent health care and dental facilities close by as well as a very good bus and ferry service. Our school forms an important part of our local community and is a hub for many activities. Our facilities include sports fields, gymnasium, music and performance auditorium and a wonderful architecturally designed modern learning space. |
Curriculum | The Hobsonville Point Secondary School curriculum is guided by the NZ Curriculum to create learning programmes that are relevant to each student’s needs. Our curriculm is underpinned by our values of Excellence, Connectedness, Collaboration, Inquiry and Innovation. Our class planning works forward from student interest and needs and then backwards from requirements for NCEA and beyond, to ensure a broad learning base with the core building blocks of thinking, literacy and numeracy firmly in place. |
